The coach takes you to Pickering, where you join the Train to experience the nostalgia of steam as you journey into “Heartbeat Country”. Travel along the 18-mile line and marvel at the magnificent scenery and wildlife, which is found in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. Journey through wooded valleys, heather clad moors and past picturesque streams.
We have planned your day so you can enjoy approximately 1 hour in Goathland “Aidensfield”, stroll in the footsteps of Vernon Scripts, David and Mike Bradley. Watch out for all those T.V. sites, before you reboard the train to continue to Grosmont where time allows for an optional visit to the Engine Sheds and Tea Rooms. Our coach will meet you in Grosmont at 16:30hrs for your return moorland drive back to York.

Harry Potter fans……..see “Hogsmeade Station” from the film version of “The Philosophers Stone” in Goathland.

Visit Castle Howard, Yorkshire’s most famous stately home, the ancestral seat of the Howard family.
Be greeted by Sir John Vanburgh, or the 5th Earl as you tour their magnificent masterpiece – you may even encounter a visiting musical genius or a Victorian Housekeeper, as “People from the Past” are a daily feature at Castle Howard.
Your ticket includes a tour of the house where you will see exquisite furniture, porcelain and portraits.
Lose yourself in the tranquillity of the extensive grounds, with a lake, formal and walled gardens, and children’s area, statues and water features. Enjoy the stable courtyard with its shops, glass blowers, pottery and garden centre.

We travel through the Howardian Hills and the Castle Howard Estate, to Pickering for a brief stop in this quaint Country Market Town.
Our journey continues via picturesque Thornton Dale and along the coast road to Whitby (2.5 hour stop). See the historic fishing harbour, cobbled streets, Whalebone Arch, Captain Cook’s House and perhaps climb the 199 steps to the cliff top Abbey. Time will permit for a traditional fish and chip lunch in one of Whitby’s award winning restaurants.
Our return journey travels through dramatic moorland scenery high over Saltersgate Moor, en route back via Pickering and York.
